KUTXAS proposes a critical reflection on the design of everyday objects, revaluing their affective dimension and their capacity to generate bonds beyond the human. It advocates for a conscious interspecies coexistence that recognizes without assimilating, that welcomes without domesticating, giving rise to forms of inhabitation that are their own, silent, legitimate. From the deconstruction of the archetype of our dog house and our culture, in which Basque heritage shares centrality with many others, prototypes emerge based on primordial forms such as the circle, the square, and the triangle. These essential geometries transform into shelters of simple lines and playful spirit, where the poetic rests upon the everyday. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, they offer cross ventilation, easy cleaning, and thermal comfort, without renouncing their intimate and contemplative character. Personal experience — that of living with mischievous, nibbling, and endearing animals — has been a direct inspiration for the development of these simple, resilient, affectionate, and versatile objects, which can even be occupied by children in their own games. Inspired by the Basque "Kutxa" — a robust, sober, and generous chest, carved in wood by hands that knew of the forest and of time — these pieces are not mere objects. They are chests of affection. Not furniture, but thresholds. Not designs, but gestures. Gestures that protect bonds, shared pauses, and warm silences.

KUTXAS are easily transportable thanks to their weight and size. They come in different sizes and two material versions: phenolic wood with white epoxy paint on the exterior and natural lacquer on the interior, or epoxy paint in a designated color palette. The second version is in sheet metal with zinc treatment and various chromatic possibilities on the interior, designed to respond to different textures of coexistence — or animals with different temperaments — without ever losing its essence: that of being a shelter, yes, but also an offering.
